BARTIRA
Being of Solar Excrement
Apócanòia (seu futuro é meu cú) started some time ago, as a conversation between Caetano, Sofia and Jari, and it is also the trace of something which will happen in a distant future. After a 10-day residency in Malmö, Caetano activates the three rooms of Galleri CC through a series of (textual, tactile, performatic) gestures: a charcoal explosion, a selfie stick video, the aftermaths of a collective dance. With the participation of dancer and DJ Ranya Asadi, music producer BARTIRA and philosopher Being of Solar Excrement.
Caetano (Salvador, Bahia 1980) would like to challenge zombie-centric notions of creativity, instigating spaces and situations in order to help the alienated (human) body immersed in the technosphere. His practice is often collaborative, taking place in the intersection of design, performance, sound and technology. In 2009 Caetano contributed to The Pirate Bay action at the Internet Pavilion of the Venice Art Biennale. He has performed and exhibited at, among others, STEIM (Amsterdam), MUCEM (Marseille), Kunstenfestival das Arts (Brussels), frei_raum Q21 (Vienna) and Xing (Bologna). In August 2020 Caetano is returning to Sweden for a residency and group perfromance at INKONST, Malmö.
