Galleri CC proudly presents the group exhibition Kollaps/Collabs with Nøne Futbol Club, Lise Seier Petersen, Anna Taina and Matthias Wermke.
The English slang for “collaborations” is “collabs”. In Swedish, the word “kollaps” translates to collapse, meaning something falling apart. In our time we experience how fast our society changes and how fractal our world is. A lot of things we took for granted a year ago, are not possible to do now. Perhaps now, more than ever, we feel the need to collaborate, to see other people and to be in a community with other people.
The work Walk with me by Anna Taina consists of a performative painting and a visual documentation of the painting process. Prior to the opening Tania will paint on the floor of the gallery while recording the performative process on video. She invites the spectator to engage with the work, by following the rhythms shown in the video and walking on the painted path. Nøne Futbol Club are a french artist duo. They will show the Work no144 : Hot Wheels, 2017. Nøne Futbol Club have created a set of wooden wheels. This set of tires is staged as a sort of pyre, in the shape of a barricade. They work with violent images of revolts and the contrast with the quiet and warm impression given by the fire. In the project Melting Clay Pieces Lise Seier Petersen works with basic ceramic containers made in the craft- based throwing technique. She uses an abnormally high temperature in the kiln, at which the clay begins to melt. The thrown containers transform to dysfunctional melted shapes. There are inherent elements of illegality and risk involved in Mat- thias Wermke artistic practice. Yet his poetic compositions are carefully thought through; each work is extensively calculated and preceded by years of meticulous planning and research. Restrictions and boundaries are seen as opportunities for the native East-Berliner.
With the exhibition we invite the audience to reflect on the topics of collaboration and collapses in order to focus on the positive and beautiful things in a breakdown, to discover the possibilities in what might seem broken.
IMPORTANT: Due to the covid-19 pandemic we have changed our opening hours. We regret to inform you that in compliance with current recommendations there will be no formal opening of this exhibition.
