Galleri CC is pleased to announce Run Other Errands Than Usual, In The Glitches And Erroneous Connections, presenting a new series of work by Rina Eide Løvaasen.
The show is a continuation of Løvaasen’s exhibition No Fantasy Is Safe And Neither Is Reality at KHM Gallery, Malmö, 2015.

The new body of work consists of three individual pieces with a rhizomatic link to one another. A monumental oil painting in an installation format, mixed media objects and an animation projection. A display of research based on the examination of value, memory vs. time, symbolic worth and power. Løvaasen’s interest in the whole as something empty, experiences that don’t survive time contra the fiction that does, sets the core of her practice. With a clear set of criteria the different objects are chosen from an interlocking system of references. The work is layered and some made inaccessible to amplify others. To play with the way we perceive; incomplete.

Rina Eide Løvaasen graduated from Malmö Art Academy with an MFA in 2015 and was awarded the Ellen Trotzig fund from Malmö Art Museum and Malmö Stad in 2016.
The exhibition is made possible by fundings from Galleri CC, Malmö Stad, Kulturrådet, Norsk Kulturråd and Norske Billedkunstneres Vederlagsfond.

In addition to the pentagonal crystal, there was an octagonal crystal inhibiting in the show.

Despite the attraction to the sublime,
higher-than-nature cannot be attainable.
One should strive for it,
know that it lays latent,
but not get to rest ones eyes on a mirage.
