By meeting in a creative process, we can be inspired by each other. In autumn 2023, Galleri CC presents workshops for all ages. The invited artists will show or teach a part of their process to the audience. The artist selects how and what they will demonstrate to activate the participants.
We want to create events where the audience are engaged and actively creating something, it's a participatory process where you discover and learn something through shaping, building, writing or acting together with other people.

The aim is to create dynamics that open up for the participants to feel creative, to think about and do things in new ways. To enhance the possibilities to learn new things we try to make the workshops inviting for both adults and children, people with great or little experience of creative processes.
A workshop is not the same thing as a lecture, it can be combined with some sort of presentation or lecture, but it’s not optimal to have one person leading and talking for a long time in relation to a workshop. The idea is to put a focus on being creative together. We all learn something from each other.

To build an everyday monument

9/12 - 13.00-16.00, Galleri CC
Curator: Bahareh Mirhadi

Welcome to the workshop "To build an everyday monument”. We will examine everyday objects and sculpt in clay. The end result of the day will be a joint sculpture. Bring an item that you feel you no longer need. It can be anything from a towel, a pair of broken glasses, to a plastic package.

During the workshop we will look at and discuss the objects that are brought but also how we could use them as tools to shape parts for our everyday monument together. Each person creates a smaller part which is then compiled into a larger joint sculpture – the everyday monument. The purpose of the workshop is to create a desire to experiment, but also to look at our everyday things and discuss their significance in a larger context. The sculpture is temporary and will not be burned.

• The event is free.
• We offer coffee.
• For all ages.
• No pre-registration is required.
• Come and go when you want during the opening hours
• Participation takes 30–40 minutes.
