Summer means Summer residency in Galleri CC! Our doors may be closed for the season but since art never sleeps or goes on a summer vacation… we feel honored to present two artists, Azadeh Ramezani Tabrizi and Murat Savaşkan from Turkey, connected to the Balconnection Project. “Not an art movement, but a movement for art”, the Balconnection Project describes themselves as a local and international network or a hub that aims to establish a direct dialogue between artist and the community, to create curiosity and interest in contemporary art in society, thus creating a ground for individuals of all ages and from all sectors of society to think about, discuss, and participate in art.
Where the Balconnection Project uses balconies to exhibit art, defined as private areas that can be seen and watched by the public, in this collaboration Galleri CC’s windows take the center stage as both exhibiting and reflecting; to create curiosity about what an art gallery is and does, and for whom we are what we are and do what we do, and raise awareness about ownership, public space and the role of contemporary art in our immediate surroundings and in the globalized art world.
