Takeshi Shiomitsu (JPN/UK)
No Operation
2/9-25/9 2016

Guest curated by Marie-France Kittler

For his first solo exhibition in Sweden, at Galleri CC, Takeshi Shiomitsu performs an investigation into his mixed media practice exploring his videos, installations and paintings as cyclic responses to the same instruction. The gallery and its different rooms will act as a filter for an enquiry into matter and connectivity, transition and stasis, percolating through the walls and ceilings, leaching out a speculative analysis of macro events at a micro level.

Takeshi Shiomitsu is an artist living and working in London. Recent solo & two-person exhibitions include Spirit Level (with Jesse Darling), AND/OR, London (2015), Wash, Milcote House, London (2014); Every line ever spoken (with Sandra Vaka Olsen), 68, Copenhagen (2014) and You Are Beautiful, LimaZulu, London (2013). In 2015 he was an artist-in-residence at Wysing Arts Centre, Cambridge. In late September 2016 he will also present a new commission at Deptford X in London.

Marie-France Kittler is a curator living and working in London and East Anglia. She is currently Curator of Exhibitions at Firstsite in Colchester, Essex.
